Award-winning independent bookshop in the heart of Penarth’s town centre, stocking a wide range of books for both adults and children in English and in Welsh, plus a selection of maps, greeting cards, jigsaws and book-related gifts.

In 2023 Griffin Books won the top prize at the British Book Awards as UK Independent Bookshop of the Year.

We run an exciting programme of author events, featuring both household names (recent examples include Maggie O’Farrell, Jeremy Bowen and Rev. Richard Coles) and debut/local authors, as well as hosting the annual Penarth Literary Festival.  We also run a number of book clubs for both adults and children/young people, and offer gift vouchers, a bespoke book subscription service as well as reading spa sessions – all perfect gifts for your bookish family and friends!
