Llantwit Major School presents Guys and Dolls

July 9 - July 12

Llantwit Major School is excited to announce their next full school production of ‘Guys and Dolls’. The show will run from Tuesday 9th – Friday 12th July 2024 at Llantwit Major School. The evening performances will start at 7:00pm and doors are open at 6:30pm.

Guys and Dolls is a classical musical that revolves around the lives of gamblers, showgirls and missionaries in New York City. The story follows the unlikely romance between a gambler named Sky Masterson and a Salvation Army worker named Sarah Brown. Alongside their love story, the musical explores themes of loyalty, redemption, and the clash between the worlds of gambling and morality. Set against a vibrant backdrop of colourful characters and catchy songs, ‘Guys and Dolls’ is a lively and entertaining musical that continues to captivate audiences with its charm and wit.

Llantwit Major School Performing Arts department cannot wait to perform again following the success of their award winning production of Les Misérables which won 8 Glamorgan Drama League awards including Best Overall Musical, competing with other companies across South Wales. There are 110 students involved in this production.

Year 13 student Dylan Guy, who is playing Nathan Detroit said, “This is a timeless classic. The dialogue is funny, the dance numbers are uplifting. It will be a fantastic night out”.

Year 12 student Erin Mawson echoed that sentiment saying, “I have performed in every production that Llantwit has put on since 2019 and nothing beats seeing all of our hard work pay off. We can’t wait to share our hard work with you all”

There will be a licensed bar selling a variety of drinks and snacks including the aptly named cocktails ‘dulce de leches’ and ‘cuba libres’. You don’t want to miss this!
