Barry Island Walking Storytime – Monday 3rd April

Join in on a creative walk to explore how to create stories for your little ones while out and about in nature from 10am – 11:30am. This is for all mums and dads (toddlers+ pushchairs!) who like to go for a walk but would like some ideas about how to make it more interesting for young children, how to stimulate curiosity about their surroundings and fire up their creativity. Penarth Easter Bunny Shop Hop – Monday 1st to Saturday 8th April

The Easter Bunny Shop Hop takes place 1 – 8 April, and it provides a unique and fun way to explore the town while also indulging in delicious chocolates. The event involves participants visiting different shops and stores throughout the town to collect chocolate treats that are given out at the end of the shop hop. This activity not only allows people to discover new shops and businesses but also promotes community engagement by encouraging people to interact with local shop owners. The Big Easter Event at Amelia Trust Farm – Monday 3rd to Thursday 6th April

It’s Spring on the Farm and enjoy an east trail around the site, with a chocolate prize for all children who complete it. This is alongside the usual farm activities, including seeing the animals, exploring the woodland trails, playing in the park, tractor rides, lawn games and much more. Lantern Making at Memo Arts Centre – Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th April

Easter Activities at Dyffryn Gardens – Monday 1st to Tuesday 11th April

Pick up your activity pack for £3 (plus usual admission) and explore the grounds of Dyffryn Gardens, to take part in 10 activities which will get the family activities and creative outdoors, from dressing up like a baby animal to guessing spring smells and Easter games. Once complete, you can claim your chocolate reward, either a chocolate egg or a vegan/Free From chocolate egg. Fonmon Castle Rhoose – Throughout Easter Holidays

Wander through the Dinosaur Adventure, meet with dinosaur rangers who will bring the terror of the Tyrannosaurus to life as you help to hunt for the lost dinosaur. Enjoy the recreated Medieval Grange as you learn about Wales’ past and how influential the Black Death was in creating a modern Welsh society. Explore The Mad Hatters’ Tea Garden, The Pirate Adventures, The Woodland Walks, the playparks and playgrounds, walled gardens and lost Victorian horticulture. There are three dinosaur shows a day at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, places limited on a first come, first served basis.

Create your own short film workshop – Tuesday 4th April

I Spy with my little Eye at Memo Arts Centre – Wednesday 12th April

Molly and Bingo the puppy are having a birthday party and, best of all, you’re invited. There’ll be a terrific treasure hunt, favourite sing-along songs and lots of fantastic games to play, including Molly’s favourite, I Spy With My Little Eye. A sweet surprise and photos with Bingo and the birthday girl will be available after the show so grown ups should bring along their cameras to capture the smiles. Cinema at Memo Arts Centre – Throughout Easter Holidays

Take a trip to your local cinema. Epic tails runs from Monday 3rd – Thursday 6th April, with the film telling the story of super smart mouse Pattie and her feline friend Sam, as they embark upon an exciting adventure of paw-some proportions through Ancient Greece.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods (12A) runs from Monday 3rd – Tuesday 11th April, Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult Super Hero alter-egos. Barry Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday 8th April

Barry’s first town-wide Easter Egg Hunt sees dozens of shops across the town creating a giant trail for families. Each online ticket gives you access to the map of venues on the trail. Simply hop along to each venue to get a piece of candy from more than 30 venues across the town. Watch out for the Easter Bunny as you make your way around town and snap a pic at our selfie stages for our photo competition. Put on your best Easter costume for a chance to win prizes; meet various street entertainer characters, plus take advantage of exclusive offers and discounts at shops across Barry on the day.
